Today’s 4th Year Spotlight is Kayla Regli! Kayla was admitted to both schools to which she applied and is most excited about her offer of admission to the University of Nevada, Reno! Congratulations, Kayla!

The AR Dance Committee, led by their advisor Gina Salmon, raised nearly $500 at their car was fundraiser at Ray's Food Place in Fortuna on Saturday! Here they are washing Chemistry teacher Mr. Stephens' car along with a special guest! #academyoftheredwoods #fuhsdistrict #raysfoodplace

Ms. Holtski's Biology 1/2 classes had the opportunity to visit the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary this morning! Students experienced two different themed tours: An ecological journey with Friends of the Marsh (FOAM) docent Mary Ann Madej, and an informative stroll along the integrated waste management complex led by FOAM docent and former high school biology teacher Elliott Dabill! Students were transported to Arcata by FUHSD bus driver Jenny Ripple. Come support the Academy of the Redwoods Dance Committee in our first car wash fundraiser. Tomorrow, April 29th, at Rays in Fortuna from 1-5 pm. All proceeds will go to hosting dances for our students. Payment is by donation.

The title hardly captures everything that Gina does for the staff, students, and parents of Academy of the Redwoods. We are so blessed to work with Gina! Today marked the Second Annual AR Career Symposium! Professionals from many industry backgrounds came to speak with students about their careers, educational pathways, summer opportunities, and more! The sun was out, energy was high, and smiles abounded! We look forward to hosting this event again in the spring of 2024! A big thank you to those who volunteered to connect with AR students today! Without your time and effort, we would not be able to host these enriching events! You are all so appreciated.

The AR Parent Advisory Committee will be meeting this Friday, April 28th, at 2 PM in the Advising Center! ARPAC will discuss recent fundraisers and other matters of interest. Refreshments will be provided. All are welcome! And don't forget about the ARPAC Fundraiser for the Alive Richard Scholarship Fund at Applebees tonight from 5 PM to 9 PM! 15% of your ticket supports AR graduates!
