Students learned about the role that the Civil Grand Jury plays in local governance, as well as the structure and oversight of local governmental systems. As a part of their indigenous games unit, AR's PE class was introduced to an adapted version of the Afghan national sport of Buzkashi (adapted because it was deemed impractical, among other factors, to use an actual goat carcass in class)! Alejandra and Emily researched the game and taught the rules to their class before commencing two spirited rounds of Buzkashi that warmed everyone up on this shivery morning!

Alejandra and Matthew orated compelling speeches on the subject of social media and both received cash prizes! Alejandra is moving on to the Zone Level contest in March!
