Alejandra Ramirez-Peralta is AR’s Student of the Month for August! Alejandra is the daughter of Flor Peralta and Maurilio Ramirez. In her free time, Alejandra enjoys reading, cooking, spending time with family, and giving back to her community through several ongoing projects, both local and statewide. To date, Alejandra has earned 20 college credits, but is on track to complete 31 by the end of the fall semester. After graduating from AR, Alejandra would like to attend a four-year school to pursue a history major and obtain a teaching credential. Alejandra would like to teach high school history and later pursue a position on the State Board of Education to further her involvement working with education policy. More than anything, she hopes to give back to her community which has encouraged her passion for educational advocacy, literacy, storytelling, and good food. Of her time at Academy of the Redwoods, Alejandra says, “AR has been a unique experience which has provided a myriad of educational opportunities that she wouldn’t have found elsewhere.”
