Applications

Application Process

If interested in attending, please complete and submit the following application materials via fax at 707-476-4439, email to aroffice@fuhsdistrict.net, or mail to Academy of the Redwoods, 7351 Tompkins Hill Road, Eureka, CA 95501. You can also drop them off at the Academy of the Redwoods office.

Academy of the Redwoods will also need the following:

  • Copy of the most recent Report Card or Transcript

  • Copy of Birth Certificate

  • Copy of Immunizations

  • Proof of Residence (utility bill, rental agreement, mortgage bill)

  • Copy of their IEP or 504 (only if the student has one)

If you reside outside the Fortuna Union High School District, please submit an Interdistrict Attendance Agreement by January 31st, 2025. This agreement must be completed and submitted to your district of residence. For more information and to access the agreement, visit HCOE Inter-District Attendance.

Math Placement Date - TBD

Students will take a math assessment as the first part of the Academy of the Redwoods admissions process.

We will call to schedule a Math Placement test in mid-February, and testing will begin in late March. Applicants are expected to be Algebra 1 ready.

The AR math assessment will cover the basics of pre-algebra. These concepts will be covered on the exam.

  • Adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing positive and negative numbers

  • Solving equations in one variable

  • Graphing Points

  • Combining Like Terms

  • Proportions

  • Exponents

  • Graphing Lines

Interview

In April, students will participate in an interview as part of the admissions process. This interview is an exciting chance for our team to get to know your students better.

**Please note that our priority registration deadline is January 31, 2025. All applications received by the priority registration deadline will receive full consideration. Applications received after January 31, 2025, will be considered as space allows**
